In looking up medical term definitions on the http://www.nci.nih.gov/dictionary/db_alpha.aspx?expand=P web site I came acrossed an interesting definition   PET scan   

   Positron emission tomography scan. A procedure in which a small amount of radioactive glucose (sugar) is injected into a vein, and a scanner is used to make detailed, computerized pictures of areas inside the body where the glucose is used. Because cancer cells often use more glucose than normal cells, the pictures can be used to find cancer cells in the body.

  The above is the definition for a PET scan found in the National Cancer Institute web site. This is the first I have seen, in the mainstream, about sugar being utilized by cancer. I take Because cancer cells often use more glucose than normal cells to mean that cancer feeds off sugar more than healthy cells feed off sugar, then it could reasonably follow that denying cancer this food source it might reasonably follow that the cancer may not do as well in an environment that is absent an abundance of this food source. This is not to say that you should, or can, rid your body of all sugar/glucose, it is to say that maybe if we curtail our sugar intake it may favor an environment for recovery.

I no longer indulge in sugar products.

    I belong to a bird list and I became friends of sorts to a woman on this list. Friends is maybe to strong a word but I did feel a connection of sorts. We only communicated a few times but,,,,,,,,,,. We lost track for a few years. I hunted her down only to find out she was on her deathbed due to cancer.

    Spirituality comes into play here. Us bird folk understand there is something to communing with birds. I intuitively understood this when I raised my first wild bird and have felt this many times over the years. Logic tells me I am only believing what I want and that is OK with me as long as I get what I want.

    Well a few weeks ago I went for a walk and a Raven came with me. All five miles, he would fly a hundred feet or so land I would walk by and he would repeat. He hung around for a few days while I fed him up and he left. Nothing too spiritual here cause I probably raised him a few years ago, but I did wonder.

    This woman had a bunch of birds, including a non releasable Raven. I understood her connection to these birds so I think of her often when I am communing with birds.

    She died a year ago and yesterday I put up my guest book and I get what I think is my first response in the form of an email message this morning. But wait it isn’t a response to my guest book it’s a message saying thank you for making an entry into Em’s guest book and that it is being taken off line. I had to check to see if I made an entry. I had but it was a year ago.
