Learn All You Can
In attempting to learn all about cancer I have discovered there is no central clearing house for information. Also the major groups who specialize in cancer, doctors, hospitals and other organizations each disseminate information in a different ways. Rarely is there agreement on basic understandings of the whys and hows of cancer. At the very least it is not easily discernable to the laymen. So as you learn about the disease it is easy to get confused. Stay with the very basics as you begin to learn. Soon you will gain an understanding of subtle differences and weather a particular piece of information is useful to follow.
Before I was diagnosed with lung cancer I didnt pay much attention to the actual health of my body. I thought if I wasnt in pain
I remember a comment my oncologist made during my first visit Squamish cell cancer or small cell cancer, at this point it doesnt really matter.
There also seemed to be a connection to survival in that those who made no change had no change. All that being said, in a nutshell, I was to scared to not continue treatment.
