My Diagnosis
On April 13,2004 I have a CT guided needle biopsy. Basically this procedure entails being X-rayed with a CAT scan device, while they put a needle into and through your chest/lung to get a piece of the tumor. You are put under the influence of a hypnotic drug, not general anesthesia, so you are capable of following directions as to when to hold your breath while the needle is inserted. Not quit as bad as it sounds though I admit I was under the hypnotic drug, so .
The pulmonologist advises me that I do in fact have cancer, it is a 3.7cm/1.4 inch tumor in the upper lobe of my right lung. There is also some mediastinal lymph node involvement. He say that this lymph system is somewhat of a gateway to the rest of the body and it initially holds the cancer back,
and our taking control is absolute.
Having a narrow thought through the years that doctors had an understanding of all disciplines I now concede was unrealistic
